70 Squares is part of a series of movement studies and video works processing randomly recorded movement material. This means the material was not developed for the purpose of the work as such. Instead the work was created through selections, adaptions and editing of the captured material.
What interests is the transformation of movement into abstractions and in this study, you see a screen recording of a live scroll through the timeline view in a common video editing programme.
The emerging 14:45 minute screen choreography was processed while simultaneously listening to and recording the music composition.
