A woman seeks the confrontation with her own monkey - Signe
Koefoed goes into her own memories, to the point where the
monkey grew. As live-sculpture her stage consists of nothing but
her own reflection. The inner retreat - intimate, fragile and isolated
– reaches outwards as a random, unpredictable gesture triggered
by the renewed presence of the monkey. What is articulated as
a deeply personal performance at first, isolates itself even more
in space, showing that the inside is only readable to the outside
world when it’s experienced as unreadable.

Eine Frau sucht die Konfrontation mit ihrem eigenen Affen – Signe
Koefoed begibt sich in ihre eigenen Erinnerungen, bis dorthin, wo
der Affe wuchs. Als Life-Skulptur besteht ihre Buehne aus nichts
als ihrer eigenen Reflektion. Der innere Rueckzugsraum, intim,
fragil und eigentlich isoliert, tritt hier nach außen: als zufaellige,
nicht vorhersehbare Geste, die die auferstandene Sichtbarkeit des
Affens notwendig mit sich bringt. Was sich als zutiefst persoenliche
Performance artikuliert, schottet sich raeumlich dennoch ab. Denn
das Innere ist fuer die Außenwelt nur verstaendlich, indem es als
unlesbar erlebt wird.
